We kicked things off with a traditional 4-on-4 elimination match, as the League of Nations faced off with the team of Cody Rhodes, John Cena and the Dudley Boyz. The League would seize an early advantage as Rusev put D-Von Dudley out with an Accolade. Cena would take his place, rushing Rusev until The Bulgarian Brute caught the 15-time World champion with a superkick.
A tag was then made to the United States champion - Alberto Del Rio - who looked to eliminate his rival. However, after missing a kick to the head, Cena was able to counter with an Attitude Adjustment and send the Mexican Aristocrat back to the showers.
Bad News Barrett tried to regain the advantage for the League, but Cena was quick to dispatch with him. Kevin Owens, however, would take a harsher approach, putting Cena down with…
…a vicious Pop-up Powerbomb. This would be enough to put the veteran away. Cody Rhodes would then dive into action - taking Owens out with a flying crossbody.
But Rhodes’ upperhand would not last for long, asRusev blasted him with a cheap kick to the back of the head. Owens would quickly tag him in, but Rusev’s ire would soon be raised by the crowd chanting “USA! USA! USA!” at him. This lapse in concentration allowed Rhodes an opening - driving Rusev into the corner and make a diving tag to Bubba Ray Dudley.
Bubba Ray would come in swinging, blasting Rusev with a barrage of rights and lefts, before clotheslining the Bulgarian Brute right out of the ring! The ECW legend was far from done, as he drove Rusev into the floor with a Bubba Bomb.
Bubba Ray wisely returned to the ring - leaving Rusev to be counted out and eliminated. Owens would then go into attack mode - as he jumped Bubba Ray from behind, and hammered him with some stiff punches.
A spike piledriver would spell the end for the 24-time Tag Team champion, leaving the match as a 1-on-1. Rhodes would come back in with a fire lit beneath him, and he quickly gained the advantage over the Intercontinental champion.
One Cross Rhodes later, and the war was won. This victory now begs the question - will Rhodes get another shot at Owens’ gold?
The bout for the World Heavyweight championship was a “blink and you’ll miss it” affair. As the bell rang, Ryback floored Triple H with a clothesline. The dazed champion would then struggle back to his feet, before being speared right into the canvas. One 3-count later, we had a NEW champion!
Mr. McMahon would then come to the ring to make his long awaited announcement. He announced that from January 2017, the NWF would be airing two weekly shows - Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown - and that both shows would have their own unique rosters. He announced that NWF’s next PPV outing - Sunday, December 18th - would be called The Draft, and that every NWF superstar would be selected to join either brand.
Up next was the rematch that everybody had been waiting for, as Brock Lesnar looked to conquer Chris Jericho - something which he had failed to do in their last encounter. Lesnar did not waste any time, grounding Jericho with a series of German suplexes. Y2J would turn things around, planting Lesnar with a DDT, followed by a Lionsault. Jericho looked to end things quickly, going for the Walls of Jericho…
But Lesnar would fight him off, and get straight back to the ground and pound offense. Another trip to Suplex City was in order, before The Beast finished his rival with an F-5.
Up next, Seth Rollins put the NWF championship on the line against Samoa Joe. Joe would easily dominate the champion, throwing him around the ring like a rag doll. Rollins escaped, but Joe was hot on his tail.
Rollins would side-step Joe, causing the Samoan to slam head first into the ring post. Out of desperation to hold on to the title, Rollins levelled Joe with a chair, getting himself disqualified.
The assault would not stop there, as an enraged Rollins delivered a Curb Stomp on to the chair. With Joe out cold, Rollins celebrated with his title to a thunderous chorus of boos.
The Vaudevillains - Simon Gotch and Aiden English - would then make their way to the ring. Gotch expressed their frustration about not being allowed to compete in the #DustyClassic two weeks ago, stating that he and English were the best of the best. English nodded his agreement. The crowd’s boos soon turned to cheers, as the opening bars of a very familiar entrance theme began to echo around the arena.
The duo could not believe their eyes - as Goldberg made his way out to a raucous ovation. Gotch would then beg off from The Myth, stating that neither he - nor English - had a quibble with him. Goldberg’s response was to floor Gotch with a spear! English them made a very unwise move, as he hit Goldberg from behind with a forearm…
…which of course, had no effect on Da Man. English begged for mercy, but it fell on deaf ears - as Goldberg laid him out with a devastating Jackhammer. Goldberg then took the mic, and stated that he had one more run left in him - before entering himself in the 2017 Royal Rumble match - and declaring that EVERYBODY was next!
It was then time for the main event of the evening, as Finn Bálor and The New Day took on The Wyatt Family. Big E would start things off with Braun Strowman - and after a battle of strength, Strowman would push Big E down to the canvas. Kofi Kingston would tag himself in - but the high-flyer stood no chance against Strowman, who eliminated him with a Chokeslam.
Bálor would be next in for his team - taking Strowman off of his feet with a missile dropkick. He would floor the behemoth again with a Slingblade, but Strowman would avoid a Coup De Grace.
Bálor would turn around to a waiting Strowman, who drove him into the mat with a vicious sit-down powerbomb. Under Bray Wyatt’s instruction, Strowman would make the tag Erick Rowan. Rowan began dragging Bálor back to his feet, but Bálor would not give in - driving Rowan into the corner and blasting him with a roundhouse kick.
With Rowan seemingly down for the count, Bálor would struggle to his corner - tagging Big E. Big E would bide his time, before taking Rowan down with a spear. This would be enough for an elimination. Big E would not have time to gain his bearings though, as Luke Harper damn near took his head off with a big boot!
Dazed, Big E stumbled back into the corner, where Harper would easily whip him around-and-down with a modified Black Hole Slam. The largest member of Bálor’s team was then put away. Harper immediately then knocked Bálor to the floor with a clothesline, preventing him from taking Big E’s place.
With Bálor temporarily out on the floor, it all came down to Xavier Woods. Harper grabbed Woods by the neck, and threw him in to the ring. Woods would plead for mercy as Harper advanced.
Harper would then brutalise Woods - first with a big boot - and then with a buckle bomb.
A final powerbomb into the mat would spell the end for Woods - leaving Bálor to battle three men alone.
Harper would drag Bálor back in to the ring with a snap vertical suplex, before making the tag to Strowman - who would take great pleasure in choking Bálor.
With Bálor close to unconsciousness, Wyatt would tag himself in. One Sister Abigail later, and it was all over - The Wyatt’s had won. The show came to an end with Wyatt urging all members of the Bálor Club worldwide to follow the buzzards.
